How to Make a Chalk Message Board from a Bathroom Mirror

What can you do with an old bathroom mirror? Turn it into a family favorite chalk message board for the kitchen!
Why, yes, this is a before picture of our ugly, ugly bathroom. Take special notice of the mirror because it’s going to surprise you!
When we remodeled our bathroom we tried to repurpose everything that might have been thrown out otherwise.
First save? The mirror/door to our medicine cabinet.
Plain and boring looking, we had another plan for this baby!
The first step? spray the entire mirror, frame and all, with a white aerosol primer.
Supplies you’ll need? Chalkboard spray paint and painter’s Frog Tape.
Tape off the wooden edges with frog tape all the way around the frame.
The frog tape protects the frame from any overspray.
For this project Tim sprayed 3 coats of the paint.
Peel off the tape, let dry for 24 hours, rub all over with the side of a piece of chalk, erase and you’re done!
It’s the perfect addition to our made over kitchen.
You can see how fun this is on the wall of our kitchen.
I love that we kept the knob, although my DIY hubby replaced it with a more vintage one he had lying around.
My recent favorite? My husband’s message to me after returning from Haven. Feeling the love!

Marty, what a cute idea. I have a ton of mirrors around the house, I should turn one into a chalkboard.
