Can you hear it? Can you hear it?

I can! It’s the wind calling to me saying, “fall is coming!”

Okay, maybe the wind isn’t actually talking to me, but I do so love fall and am completely ready for its arrival.

Well, maybe I’m not ready for fall decorating and projects and Christmas breathing down fall’s neck.

But other than that……

A waterfall surrounded by trees

I love sweater weather and finally slipping on the jeans I haven’t worn for three months. (Sure, maybe they didn’t really slip on and a tug of war did ensue, but that’s a whole ‘nother story!)

Since I am usually an “anything chocolate” dessert lover, I was surprised when I made this cake and absolutely adored it!

The apple cake recipe was a welcome treat and the glaze sets it apart with a  wow factor!

The dough is unlike a regular cake mix. You’ll probably think you did something wrong and double check the recipe like I did!

Nope, you’re good. It’s just an extremely thick and gooey dough. Scrape it off the sides of the mixing bowl and make sure and taste it just in case.

  1. Hello Marty! Last night I was looking for a fall cake for my daughter to take to work for their Thanksgiving dinner. I was so tired of the same old apple cakes covered in 2lbs of cream cheese frosting. Then I ran across your blog and “BAM”, there it was! An apple cake that let the apples shine thru & the glaze is over the top! It tastes like pralines but not overly sweet since it is a glaze not true icing. It was a giant hit at her workplace, she sent me a text to say they devoured it as soon as she got there so it never even made it to the dinner!! I can’t wait to make one for us to devour! Thanks for the awesome recipe & your blog is amazing!! May God bless you!
