Fall Home Tours
I want to teach you how to create a cozy fall aesthetic even when you’re short on money, time and experience! I’m definitely no expert but my home is an expression of all the things I’ve collected, created and pulled together!
In July 2021 my husband and I separated and I purchased a little cottage I’m turning into home sweet home step by step, day by day. Moving into my own home, stretching as I’ve learned to do things I’ve never done before and coming into my own as a woman of God have been quite the ride!
Through it all I’m learning to make mistakes, trust my instincts and pray without ceasing. All of the fall cottage decor you see in these pictures was in my old home and now I’m using the pretties in a fresh new way.
Here you’ll find inexpensive projects from the front porch to a wreath and easy fall crafts to help you create a beautiful home on a budget.
DIY Projects and Crafts
This garland is a fun way to add a little color and save money! I’m sharing how I used it in both my previous home and my new cottage home. Change up the colors and use it for Halloween or Thanksgiving or any time of the year! Plus there’s no sewing or hot glue required!
I’ve learned more recently I don’t have to spend a ton of time or money to be creative. Sometimes a paper plate and paint is all I need! These step by step instructions are perfect craft for kids of all ages.
This special little fall mason jar sits on our kitchen table year round, reminding us to take time to appreciate God’s blessings, both small and large. One of the most impactful gifts you can pass onto your children is gratitude.
One of my favorite places to greet friends and family with good ol’ southern fall decor is the front porch. With the addition of pine cones, stems and a hay bale, a fall pumpkin made from wood sets the mood for enjoyment before you even open the front door.
Set your creativity free with this little project using your favorite ribbon or any kind of burlap ribbon. So simple even preschoolers can help collect the pinecones!
This painted pumpkin craft can be done in just a few minutes, with either real pumpkins or fake ones. You can even hit up your local dollar store and really keep it on the thrifty side.
Don’t overthink your home decor! Use things you already have like fall wreaths or a fall leaf or two. Pretty doesn’t have to be complicated!
Fall Table Ideas
Since I’m an avid no sew gal, these two projects are perfect for those who don’t sew! That’s right. Two projects, DIY buffalo check and burlap chargers plus a no sew table runner!
Decorating my table, whether it was in my previous home or my little cottage, is one of my favorite things about fall! I just love a beautiful table that invites all that visit to come share a meal and time together.
A couple of years ago I created this Spooky Spoons Halloween Centerpiece for Farmhouse Style Magazine and I just can’t resist sharing it with you! There’s a little bit of work involved but the result is adorable and unique!
Made from a small branch as a candle holder, this DIY fall decor can really be used any season of the year by changing out the accents around the centerpiece.
Red and teal were my kitchen accent colors and coral and aqua were in my living room. Since these two rooms became one open space (since we took down a wall and remodeled our kitchen) I used a combination of colors to create a beautiful but simple fall table.
You can’t go wrong at the dollar store! I still love the challenge of shopping for home decor and creating something out of inexpensive items such as artificial leaves, mason jars and a ribbon or two.
